"Haru wasn't a big fan of coffee, was he? He thought, looking down at his espresso.He brought the cup to his mouth and had a taste of the reheated coffee. It was tasteless and the extract was hardly there. It only tasted good when Sosuke was there. The logic made no sense at all and Makoto found himself chuckling. Why am I like this? He wondered.But he knew.His problem was so simple that asking himself that question was nothing but redundant. He had fallen in love first. That was his problem. When it came to the matters of love, he was always the first to fall in love. That was his downfall. That was his flaw."
Makoto Tachibana believed for a long time that his persisting feelings for his childhood friend, Haru, would never disappear. Despite of his strong feelings for the boy with the eyes that look like an ocean, Makoto...could never win. But not all hope was lost when Makoto met Sosuke Yamazaki, a man who, in many ways, shared the same pain he felt. Under unique circumstances, the stoic Sosuke and emotional Makoto finally began to date.
Nearly a year later, the two decide to have a date at the cafe to celebrate their first month officially living together. However, when Sosuke runs out on the date after seeing an old lover, Makoto finds himself contemplating how genuine this relationship is. Ultimately, his recollections of the relationship in the past years raise some important questions:
Does Sosuke really love him? How much? And, even more importantly, does Makoto really love Sosuke like he initially believes?
